NAPO-Greater Philadelphia Chapter: Create Lasting Change with Clients

This event is for National Association of Productivity & Organizing-Greater Philadelphia Chapter professionals.

Clients hire professional organizers when they need help cleaning out their physical spaces. Sometimes the physical space is symbolic of a client’s emotional life. Letting go of physical belongings is a natural starting point.

As Professional Organizers it is our job to support our clients in getting unstuck. This practical, hands-on workshop will examine effective ways to create change in your client’s habits, encourage new practices and transform old patterns into new routines. Ilana's expertise as a licensed mental health counselor and trained therapist will help us navigate the boundaries of what is appropriate or not, given our role.

In the first part of the workshop, Ilana will illustrate and teach the tried and true techniques she successfully honed from her years of clinical work to bring about change in her clients’ lives. During the second part of the class, Ilana will have select organizers present case studies: real life situations where we get stopped or feel stuck with certain clients.

Ilana will demonstrate the techniques taught at the start of the workshop to show how to assess the situation and utilize the techniques effectively to encourage change.

In this CEU-worthy workshop you will:

• Gain a deeper understanding and insight into clients' emotional spaces due to the profound impact of parents and other relatives on their lives.

• Acquire practical tips and relevant solutions related to working with clients including boundary setting.

• Learn how to build on client's strengths to give them hope including reframing, VIA Character strengths, storytelling and personality assessments.
